Governance
The Koala Recovery Partnership (KRP) is hosted by the Mid North Coast Joint Organisation. The KRP Advisory Committee further the objectives of the project by considering the strategic direction and activities of the Partnership and providing technical input on the associated projects. The Advisory Committee includes a representative of each of the funding partners, being the NSW Government, Department of Planning Industry and Environment, the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, Kempsey Shire Council and the Mid North Coast Joint Organisation's Executive Officer. Together the Advisory Committee have a wealth of experience relating to koala biology, ecology and conservation, governance, and the application and development of NSW environmental legislation and strategic planning matters. The Advisory Committee representatives also possess a wealth of knowledge on the local environment and strong networks with local stakeholders across the Hastings-Macleay. The Advisory Committee ensures that all activities undertaken by the Koala Recovery Partnership are in accordance with the NSW Koala Strategy and the objectives of the SOS Iconic Koala Project. The Koala Recovery Partnership employs a full-time Koala Ecologist to oversee the delivery of the various projects and to be a point of contact with stakeholders (see Contact Us).
