The Koala Recovery Partnership:
Working Together for Improved Koala Conservation
The Koala Recovery Partnership seeks to improve koala conservation across the Hastings-Macleay Region by engaging with landholders, the community, research groups and government sectors to achieve better on-ground koala conservation outcomes and on-going viability (or sustainability) for this iconic and important Australian species.
The Partnership is a joint venture under the Mid North Coast Joint Organisation (Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, Kempsey Shire Council, Bellingen Shire Council), with funding from the NSW Government Saving Our Species Koala Iconic Program, the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital and Port Macquarie-Hastings and Kempsey councils.
The Partnership welcomes and encourages collaborative endeavours with all stakeholders. The Partnership is hosted by the Mid North Coast Joint Organisation and administered by an Advisory Committee with appropriate technical knowledge and governance skills (see About Us). The Koala Recovery Partnership employs a full time Koala Ecologist to enact the projects set by the Advisory Committee (see About Us).
The Partnership conducts a variety of educational, scientific and on-ground projects that will contribute to protecting koalas and their habitat in the Hastings-Macleay Region (see About Us). READ MORE
